Studio session 3
At the close of last session, after seeing all the other groups’ diagrams, I felt that ours definitely could use some tweaking, so I think that this session was very appropriate for our group. Originally, we tried to get all our information on the board and connect everything that was related, but we soon realized that this made for a messy diagram. We brainstormed together today and came up with a new way to reformat. We decided to take a somewhat linear approach. We had things that led to the Arab Spring in boxes on the left feeding into our “Arab Spring” bubble. Then, in the middle we put two branches coming off “Arab Spring”, physical places and virtual places. Under virtual places we separated the social media that was used in the revolution into internal and external—an idea that we liked from the Occupy Movement group. Then, on the right we had some things that the Arab Spring led to. Our diagram contained three other groups—WikiLeaks, Occupy, and Gezi Park. It was interesting to see how connected a lot of these events are.
