Studio Session 1 (3/19)
Conduct Collaborative Research
- Find stories on the web relating to your group’s topic
- Focus on primary and secondary sources, such as newspaper stories or blog entries
- Look for stories that involve social media and key communicative events
- Put entries in Diigo and tag them with your group's name as we did before
- e.g. @ISIS, @wikileaks for your project
- Also create tags for people, places, events, etc.
- At the end of the session, look at the work of your group mates and discuss what you have found
- What are the common events and themes?
- Use this information when creating your reflection post.
- Write an "article," or reflective post about your in-class research experience
- Go to the "Articles" tab and click on the link to create a new article.
- Write a 200 to 400 words, i.e. a fat paragraph, about what you learned and discussed in your group. What caught your interest? What are you thinking about pursuing further?
- It must be posted by 5:00 PM Friday, but better if early. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE WEEKEND.
- To get full credit for the project, you must complete these.
